True Essence of Christmas

Money, clothes, toys, appliances, bags, shoes, books, cups, cell phones, laptops and many more, these are some of the Christmas presents that we give to our love ones that makes them happy. But nothing’s happier if we know the true essence of Christmas, and that is love and peace.
May kids do believe in Santa Claus with twelve reindeers that flies and used to ride it from house to house to send gifts or presents to children who have been nice over the holiday and he slowly puts these under the mistletoe while they’re asleep. When I was a kid, I believed about Santa Claus and the be-nice-during-the-holiday thing and he will give your gift as a reward, but if you don’t try to be nice, you’ll get nothing. But now, I don’t believe anymore, it’s just that I’m tired of trying to be nice(sometimes it’s inevitable from doing bad) and believing for nothing, all of this is just a product of wild imagination. The true essence of Christmas is not the material things but love and peace. Come to think of it, there are so many children in the streets, even though they will receive a lots of gifts, foods, money, clothes and other things, still, having a family or love ones is different, the feeling of to have a true family bind together with love is the best gift that we could ever receive.
So, let’s give love on Christmas and make them feel your love and let peace reign in the world. Let every individual forgive and forget. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

Equal rights and opportunities? What about this? I really don’t know what’s the exact meaning of this but when I heard it, the first thing that came into  my mind is that rich or poor, strongor weak, young or adult, everybody in God’s eyes is equal.
We, people, living in this small world that God created us for a reason. We can’t just say that God created us to live and just after how many years, then die. No, that is not what life is. I know each of us live on a purpose. “We are nothing but humans” that’s why are created to become stewards to every other creatures of God and this is one of our responsibilities to do so. If we have to become stewards to other, then there must become stewards to us. To be able to have a peaceful world, everyone should be equally treated. We all have rights and responsibilities to respect and treat equally.
Let love, peace and equality reign. We are the key to equal rights and opportunities. Each of us can rejig these equalities, let us start treating each of individuals equally and have a PROGRESS FOR ALL.

Responding To Climate Change

Winter, spring, summer or fall, we have four seasons in earth. But, is it still normal to have this weather or seasons immediately? I mean, later, it will rain then tomorrow it will be sunny, can’t you feel anything? We are now experiencing climate change! Yes my friend, climate change!
El Niño, El Niña, Hurricanes, Tidal Waves, Tsunami, Tornados, Landslides, Mudslides, Hailstorm, Snowstorm, and many more, these are the disastrous things that can kill us easily. Because of our evil doings like deforestation, throwing waste materials from the rivers and deadly dirty smokes from vehicles and factories, we are being killed slowly by mother earth’s dangerous power and revenge, we are abusing our nature and we all deserve this if we don’t stop our evil doings. So, can we respond to climate change? How can we make mother earth cleaner and greener? I believe that unity is the key to achieve something. Let us plant trees, throw waste in the garbage can and avoid in making deadly smokes. With these small things that we contribute can surely help our mother earth cleaner and greener. Our earth had been serving us well during these years and now had caused dissatisfaction among the people. In the desire for comfort, trees are cut down for shelter, drilling the earth for more oil and other minerals for transportation and more money and power central, poisoning our water for more catch inventing things that are destroy our earth for world supremacy. Do you realize that all these things would cause great damage to our earth?
Yes, so many things had happened. Let us not ignore these berserk things otherwise our world will go to total devastation. Can you allow this to happen to our beloved mother earth my dear friends? Act now for this is the right time for you to show and to prove how much you love the world as you have professed in your words. You and I composed this world’s populace so let’s work hand in hand to save this world from total destruction.

"Promoting Digital Literacy Through English Proficiency"

English is a well-positioned to become the language spoken by all which would eliminate the harmful language barrier that separates countries and peoples. English is a universal language. English is very rich. So, why is there a need to promote digital literacy?
Nowadays, we are using the computers, cellphones, ipads, laptops, and many more. These things we use are also for communication. We communicate through text, call and even online websites like Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Myspace, Myyearbook, Skype, Friendster, Flixster and many more social sites that we can e-mail and chat everybody. English is a remarkable language. It is the native tongue of over 600 million people and is the largest speech community in the world except for Mandarin Chinese. As a second language, English is the most important choice. Ofcourse, most of us will get around the using only a fraction of the available words. Still, it is nice to know that they're there and it's quite nice to know the meanings of a lot of them. So, there is a need to promote digital literacy for better communication with other people around the world. to be able to enhance my knowledge, I must understand every new and dificult words. And also, I can and I know that I am enhancing my communicating skills because I was used to speak these difficult words by speaking.
Therefore, I can barely say that promoting digital literacy is an important tool for people of many societies, allowing them to access information which may or might have otherwise been unavailable. It helps me to develop my attitude, develop muy skills in higher intellectual and critical operations, more complex comprehension and creative expressions; development of word attack skills through the comprehensive use of technology development strategies supplemented by explanatory notes for better understanding. It play as a role in our everyday life.

“Chemergy: Chemistry and Science Club in Synergy”

Chemists, scientists, physicists, expertise and many more, they are the one who are connected in science industry. Science, for all we know, it is the branch of knowledge involving systematized observation and experimentation. Hence, an experiment has also chemicals. What are the things that are made up in the world of chemistry?
Chemistry is a branch of science dealing with the elements and the compounds they form and the reaction they undergo. When we talk about experiments, inventions and discoveries, the first thing that comes into my mind is the word “chemistry.” Chemistry had spread everywhere, in Philippines, America, Australia, Europe, Africa and not only these countries but all over the world. This has many contributions like in the foods, medicines, drinks, things such as toys and etc., these has chemicals. Now let us know what the meaning of synergy is. Synergy means to help, to be together, group, company, and unity. We must have unity, to be able to provide with the means towards what is needed or sought in the future, discovering things, inventing and experimenting things, we must use things in their proper way.
I can barely say that if we had a unity, we will be surviving. And we must teach young men and let them know the true meaning of knowledge. A child must be in pursuit of knowledge not knowledge in pursuit of a child.

My Teacher, My Hero

In the eyes of a child, what he/she sees is what he/she gets.
Motherhood is the noblest activity in a woman's life. Hence, only a mother can truly care for a child from pregnancy, to giving birth, to giving the best education, to giving him/her away in marriage, to look after her grandchildren and so on and so forth until her twilight age comes and even up to her last breath. this is a real scenario in our country because we Filipinos have a great bond-family ties.
Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flashman, Incredible Hulk, Captain Barbel and many more are the superheroes in the world of fantasy that a child may idolize during his/her pre-school age.
But as a chlid grows-up, the way he/she is being nurtured by his/her parents, come out of him/her in dealing with other people in his/her daily life outside their house. The behaviour of a child solely depends on the upbringing of her parents, secondarily, the way the teachers treat him/her in school.
Molding a child is a joint effort by the parents and the teachers. And with this, a child's mind collects different ideas and behaviours and with proper guidance, the child will become a good citizen.
So it's not Wonder Woman or Superman that takes the number one post in a child's list of superheroes when he/she is already in his/her teens.
My teacher, my hero, second to none is my one and only mother, who talks to us heart to heart on sensitive matters. So as a child, what I see is what I get. I salute all my teachers!

My Life, My Saviour, My Hero!

In the movies, most of the TV shows have the protagonist and antagonist that makes the movie better and interesting. Without those roles, we may not be able to enjoy the show. But there are some movies which contains protagonist only, and some protagonist are hero. In real life, there's also hero. So, who is your hero?
God's masterpiece in creating stuffs is human. It's like my mother and father, I can barely say that we are (together with my siblings) their obra maestra. Our parents are our guardians, they are the one who take good care and take responsibility of us. As a daughter, I consider them as "my hero" because everytime I need them, they are always there to guide me, support me, and rule me especially when I'm sick, With the touch of their hands, I can really feel that they love me so much. They are the reason why I am striving hard in my studies, they are also my inspiration.
I will do my very best to be one of the top ten of the school, I'll be a good daughter to them.

SONA of PNOY

The State of the Nation Address or SONA is an annual event in the Republic of the Philippines in which the President reports on the status of the nation, normally to he resumption of a joint session of the congress. The first SONA of Pres. Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" C. Aquino, the fifteenth president of the Philippines , happened in the 26th of July 2010 at the Session Hall, Batasang Pambansa Complex, Quezon Cityand the second one happened in the 25th of July 2011 at the same place.
Some of what PNOY talked about are: wang-wang, over-importing rice and PhilHealth. The first topic of PNOY was the wang-wang. This wang-wang case begun last year and this gesture has become the symbol of change, not just in our streets but even in our collective attitude. But some are hard-headed and instead of behaving like public servants, they acted like kings. They have no right to do this. The next topic was over-importing rice. There are still people who are being left behind. What do we do with them?First we identified the poorest of the poor and invested them because people are our greatest resource. And the other topic was PhilHealth . With a compliance rate of 92% millions of mothers are already getting check-ups at public centers, millions of babies are being vaccinated against common diseases and millions of school-aged children are now attending classes.
We have fought against the wang-wang and our efforts have yielded results. We are giving those poor families a chance to improve their lives, because their progress will be the country's progress. 5.2 million Filipino families who benefit PhilHealth are those who really need it. We do hope, that all of these things and our efforts would result. and unity of Filipino citizens is a must.

Isulong ang Breastfeeding-Tama,Sapat at Eksklusibo

"Nutrition Month Celebration," this we celebrate every year, month of July. With the word "nutrition," it reminds us to take good care of our body and mind, to be strong and to be healthy. This month of celebration, our theme for this year is "Isulong ang Breastfeeding-Tama,Sapat at Eksklusibo."So what is this all about?
We all know that breastfeeding is the best way to feed young babies, this is more nutritious than of those commercial milks that came from animals. With the help of vegetables and fruits that mothers eat, they can feed their babies well and aside from feeding, they can also be healthy and at the same time, they are taking good care of their body. This time, most are buying commercial milk that is not nutritious for babies. So let us impliment breastfeeding, right, enough, and exclusive. For the better future of the babies, mother should eat nutritious foods like green vegetables and fresh fruit to avoid diseases. to have healthy body and mind.

Babies are not animals, so you must not breastfeed them too much commercial milk because it has also chemical content that can make the baby sick. All the nutrients that mother take, can also take the baby.

Lack Of Discipline

                                                                                                                          June 08,2011

                                                                                                                          Vigan City,Ilocos Sur

President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino
His Excellency, The President
Malacañang Palace,Manila

Dear Mr. President,
Sir, as you read this letter of mine,  would like to greet you first a pleasant day!I know this maybe a little bit hard for you, but before all, I would like to introduce myself to you, I'm Lorena Dawn Abella, a fourth year student from Ilocos Sur National High School. I would like to  have a disciplined environment from our school.
As we started the class last June 6, I can say that many things were improved in our school like the buildings (from the Values Bldg. and New Values Bldg. and Research Room), parks and many more. But the problem is how can some students learn if at the very first day of school, I can see students who were holding a stick of cigarette and smoking during lunch time outside the campus? This is the problem that I am talking about. Since I was in first year, my first impression about some of those students is they have bad fraternity that can lead them to a bad life. But then as months passed by, our principal already solved these problems and I'm glad about that. But how about those teenagers who sniff that stinky stick of cigarette that can cause their death? I already heard the news about the stoppage of cigarette in Manila. But what if you can warn all the citizens of Philippines to do so? I know there are also stubborn people and they are hard to discipline.
I hope so Sir that you can manage about this problem.

                                                                                                                         Respectfully yours,
                                                                                                                         Lorena Dawn Abella
